The short answer
Aldro is the cheapest way to get your business taxes done: $399 flat, with bookkeeping at $20 a month.
TurboTax sells business taxes three ways: software you run yourself, software with expert help (Expert Assist Business), and an expert who does the return for you (Expert Full Service Business). Its prices are per federal return, and its pages say state is additional.
Aldro's flat price covers everything tax for the year: every federal and state business return the business needs, including Schedule C, Form 1065, Form 1120-S and Form 1120. Our team prepares and files them. For an S corp or partnership, $399 is less than both TurboTax's $639 Expert Assist price and its $1,549 Full Service price, before TurboTax adds state.
TurboTax Business prices vs Aldro
These are the prices TurboTax shows on its own pages as of October 31, 2026. The Expert prices carry a "file by" date to save: March 31 for sole proprietors and April 30 for S corps and partnerships. TurboTax says strikethrough prices reflect anticipated late-season pricing, from April 1 to October 31, or May 1 to October 31 for S corps and partnerships.
TurboTax's do-it-yourself options
TurboTax Do It Yourself Premium, for the self-employed and investors, lists at $139 federal with a file-by-March-31 note and state additional. Premium includes the entire Schedule C, Schedule E, Schedule F and Form 8829, plus entering Schedules K-1 you receive from a partnership, S corp or trust. It also lets you create and e-file W-2s and 1099s with Quick Employer Forms.

Desktop Business includes no state, and each state download is $55. Desktop prices include free federal e-file of up to 5 federal returns. Year-round books: Expert 365 Business vs Aldro bookkeeping
TurboTax Expert 365 Business is billed at $61 a month and needs a QuickBooks Simple Start subscription billed at $38 a month. It is available to new QuickBooks customers who are sole proprietorships or single-member LLCs. TurboTax says C corps, S corps and partnerships aren't eligible.
Aldro bookkeeping is $20 a month for any entity type. It covers unlimited bank and card accounts, monthly reconciliation and statements. Payroll processing and sales-tax filing aren't included.
Deadlines and late penalties, whichever you choose
TurboTax's page says partnerships and S corps had to file by March 16th, and sole proprietors and single-member LLCs by April 15th. In Expert Full Service Business, the expert can file Form 7004 for a 6-month business extension.
The IRS penalty for a late Form 1065 or Form 1120-S is charged for each month or part of a month late, for up to 12 months. For returns due after December 31, 2025, it is $255 times the number of partners or shareholders, per month.
For Form 1120 and Form 1040, the failure-to-file penalty is 5% of the unpaid tax for each month or part of a month late, up to 25%. If the return is more than 60 days late, the minimum penalty for returns due after December 31, 2025 is $525 or 100% of the unpaid tax, whichever is less.
The IRS presumes reasonable cause for some small partnerships: 10 or fewer partners who are individuals (not nonresident aliens) or estates of deceased partners, where every partner reported their share on a timely return. This relief comes from Rev. Proc. 84-35.
Worked example
Say an S corp with two shareholders files in one state. TurboTax Expert Full Service Business lists $1,549 federal, plus state. Expert Assist Business lists $639 federal, plus state, and the owner does the return with expert help. Aldro is $399 for the year with the state return included. If the same S corp filed Form 1120-S three months late, the IRS penalty would be $255 x 2 shareholders x 3 months = $1,530.
